Two people sustained serious injuries in a car crash at the J.J. Bakery in the 2300 block of Crenshaw Boulevard on June 18, 2010. According to the news report published in the Daily Breeze, a woman was parking her Mercedes Benz in front of the J.J. Bakery when she hit the gas instead of the brakes and struck the front door.

A person standing close to the cash register was pinned against the cooler placed in the bakery and the cashier was pinned between the back wall and the cash counter.  Both the injured victims suffered serious bone injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

We hope that both the injured victims did not sustain any catastrophic injury and return back to their normal lives soon.  It is indeed fortunate that the other people in the bakery were not hit in this accident.  From the new report is appears that the lady in Mercedes caused the traffic accident. If she is indeed found responsible for causing this single vehicle car crash, she may be held liable to pay the injured victims a legal compensation.

Two people sustained critical injuries and several others were also injured in a Los Angeles car crash after a tour bus collided with another vehicle head on. According to the Pasadena Star News report, this auto accident occurred on June 17, 2010, near the intersection of Garvey Avenue and San Gabriel Boulevard when a Nissan Sentra was rear ended by a Honda Civic.

The impact pushed the Nissan right in the lane of oncoming traffic and lead to a head-on collision with a tour bus. According to a news report, 20 passengers travelling in the tour bus sustained minor non-catastrophic injuries. Drivers of both the vehicles were taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

The tour bus belonged to the US Asia tour bus company and was heading towards a casino. If the driver of the Honda Civic is found guilty behind this accident, then he or she might be held liable for the injuries caused. It is possible that the driver of the Honda Civic was driving under influence, was generally negligent, or distracted.

A car crash on May 19, 2010, injured four people when a car turned over on Interstate 80 (I-80) in Dixon. According to the California Highway Patrol, Shelbee Szeto, 18-years old of Oakland, was driving his Mazda Sedan westbound when he lost control of his vehicle.  The auto accident happened at about 10 a.m.

The auto wreck occurred near the Highway 113 exit when his vehicle went out of control and started to roll over. The Mazda sedan landed upside down on an embankment along the freeway’s shoulder.

Szeto, along with three others sustained minor injuries. As reported by the California Highway Patrol, Fion Wong of Davis, 19, Sandra Ho, 20 and Bonnie So, 18, suffered injuries. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the car crash.

A 21-year old drunk Marina resident injured two Monterey police officers in a Monterey DUI car accident that took place on March 25, 2010 on Fremont Street at around 1:00 am.

Cory Overton, the drunk driver, was driving his 2000 Dodge Dakota towards the Abrego Street Station when he collided head-on with the Monterey Patrol car. Reportedly, Overton crossed the yellow lines and crashed into the oncoming patrol vehicle. The two police officers were taken to a nearby hospital where they were treated for upper back, head pain, and neck injuries. Overton has been charged with DUI and a felony count of causing injury while driving under the influence of alcohol.

It is good to know that not much harm came to the officers due to Overton’s disregard for the public’s safety by driving while drunk. On the other hand, Overton and other drivers like him need to realize that because of such carelessness while driving, the situation can be much worse! The Real World: San Francisco star David Rainey (otherwise known as “Puck”) was arrested for drunk driving in a San Diego injury accident that took place on March 24, 2010 on California’s Route 79. Rainey’s 8-year-old son was also injured along with him in the car accident.

Rainey was of for a fishing trip when he swerved his car to avoid hitting a deer but lost control and the car rolled down an embankment and rested upside down in the stream bed. The star was transported to a hospital with severe injuries- broken bones in feet, right hand and neck and fractured sternum and clavicle. It is yet to be ascertained if it really was a deer responsible for this.

Our office wishes Rainey and his son a quick recovery. The fact that Rainey was drunk while he was driving and that also when he had a child on board speaks of utter carelessness! He faces charges on child endangerment and driving without a license. Outcome: 7 people killed, including four children

The California Highway Patrol reported that a car fleeing a routine traffic stop struck a pickup truck, killing three people in the car and four young children in the truck.  The accident happened in Dinuba, CA, just southeast of Fresno, when the police tried to stop the car for folling through a stop sign.  The adults in the truck were identified as Carlos Salazar, Jr. and Jennifer Salazar of Orange Cove, CA.  They were travelling with their fifth children.  Four of the children were ejected and died at the scene.  The fifth child was taken to a hospital with his parents.  The three men in the car being chased were killed.

This is a tragic accident and we wish the best to the Salazar family.  Unfortunately, the men in the car will not be held accountable for their reckless actions.
