A car crash on May 19, 2010, injured four people when a car turned over on Interstate 80 (I-80) in Dixon. According to the California Highway Patrol, Shelbee Szeto, 18-years old of Oakland, was driving his Mazda Sedan westbound when he lost control of his vehicle.  The auto accident happened at about 10 a.m.

The auto wreck occurred near the Highway 113 exit when his vehicle went out of control and started to roll over. The Mazda sedan landed upside down on an embankment along the freeway’s shoulder.

Szeto, along with three others sustained minor injuries. As reported by the California Highway Patrol, Fion Wong of Davis, 19, Sandra Ho, 20 and Bonnie So, 18, suffered injuries. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the car crash.

The Real World: San Francisco star David Rainey (otherwise known as “Puck”) was arrested for drunk driving in a San Diego injury accident that took place on March 24, 2010 on California’s Route 79. Rainey’s 8-year-old son was also injured along with him in the car accident.

Rainey was of for a fishing trip when he swerved his car to avoid hitting a deer but lost control and the car rolled down an embankment and rested upside down in the stream bed. The star was transported to a hospital with severe injuries- broken bones in feet, right hand and neck and fractured sternum and clavicle. It is yet to be ascertained if it really was a deer responsible for this.

Our office wishes Rainey and his son a quick recovery. The fact that Rainey was drunk while he was driving and that also when he had a child on board speaks of utter carelessness! He faces charges on child endangerment and driving without a license. Type: SUV Rollover Accident

Outcome: Teenage girl killed

A young girl from the Inland Empire city of Corona died last week when the SUV she had been traveling in rolled over while driving along the Interstate 15, a popular stretch that has a large presence in San Diego and travels northward and eastward through Riverside and San Bernardino Counties towards Nevada and Las Vegas. The girl was 16 years old.

The Riverside County coroner’s office identified the victim as Alexis Victoria Vega.  She died at the scene of the accident, which took place north of Limonite Avenue on southbound Interstate 15 on August 14, 2009.

While the accident is still under investigation, the CHP noted that Joshua Daugherty, 19, of Corona, drove onto the dirt shoulder and veered back to the freeway at much too fast a speed. The SUV then spun and hit a metal call box before overturning, sliding on its side and rolling onto the roof. Daugherty, along with front-seat passenger Issac Ball, 18, of Corona, were able to exit the vehicle, but Vega was trapped in the back seat.

Outcome: Teenage girl seriously injured and hospitalized

A 16-year-old girl suffered major head injuries and possibly a traumatic brain injury (TBI) when the Jeep she was a passenger in overturned in Nevada City.  According to the California Highway Patrol, she was one of two passengers in a Jeep driven by a 17-year-old male.  Alcohol is believed to be involved.  Both the driver and the young girl were transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley, CA.  The third passenger, a 17-year-old male, was uninjured.

This is just another example of a senseless auto accident involving driving under the influence of alcohol.  We hope that everyone injured in the accident has a full and speedy recovery.  However, the driver deserves punishment and a reminder of the responsibility we all have to drive our cars safely and legally.
